Technical Assistance II

More than 300 laboratory officials within the Directorate of Standardisation and Quality Control, the Ministry of Trade (MoT), and the Industrial Services Standardization and Policy Agency (BSKJI) within the Ministry of Industry (MoI) participated in the ISO/IEC 17025 Training held with the support from ARISE+ Indonesia. The training aimed to provide knowledge and understanding of the standard, enabling testing and calibration laboratories to operate competently and generate valid results. Compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025 will establish confidence in their work both nationally and internationally, which, in turn, improves international trade.
The training is organised in two batches for two groups of participants. The first training was conducted for laboratory officials within the MoT and the MoI who have not taken ISO/IEC 17025 training or beginners on 21-22 April and 25-26 April 2022, respectively. The training was delivered online by the ARISE+ Indonesia Senior Expert on Standards and Conformity, Alain Peyré, and facilitated by the ARISE+ Indonesia Senior Expert on Export Quality Infrastructure, Arief Safari.
The first half a day of training discussed the technical requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories. The second training day focused on the measurement requirements, including metrological traceability and uncertainty measurement.
During the opening ceremony of training for the MoT officials, the Director of Standardisation and Quality Control of the Ministry of Trade, Rr Dyah Palupi, remarked that the training would improve the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025, allowing the laboratories to deliver better services and reliable results for its customers.
Nadia Annisa Fajriana, a laboratory staff in the Center for Standardization of Cellulose Industry Services (BBSPJIS) within the Ministry of Industry, extended her gratitude to ARISE+ Indonesia and said the ISO/IEC 17025 training was beneficial in supporting the laboratory to improve the delivery of its services.
The second training for advanced participants will be organised after the lab survey on the need for specific improvement in lab management is completed.
