Technical Assistance II
ARISE+ Indonesia hosted a coordination meeting for representatives from Bappenas and three institutional delivery partners developing the Grand Designs on Export Acceleration, Investment and Economic Cooperation on 25 May 2022.
The development of Grand Design will support Bappenas’ annual work plans (RKP) over the coming years and the next Medium Term Development Plan (2025-2029).
There are strong links and complementarities between the three Grand Design topics. Therefore, this coordination meeting enabled each delivery partner to hear about the other Grand Designs being developed and discuss respective approaches, methodologies, and focus areas.
A productive exchange of views and recommendations took place, covering topics ranging from the importance of assessing investment’s contribution to exports, the importance of supporting existing investor retention and expansion, and the types of economic partnership agreements that should be assessed. The meeting also discussed Indonesian stakeholder groups to be consulted on how Indonesia’s economic partnership agreements are leveraged.
Ibu Dwi Martini, Deputy Director at Bappenas’ Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation Directorate, offered her appreciation to ARISE+ Indonesia for facilitating the beneficial and insightful coordination meeting.
The Grand Designs will proceed to be developed during the remainder of this year, with an additional coordination meeting envisaged in the third quarter. By that point, each delivery partner will be able to share numerous insights based on the work they will have undertaken.
