The holistic implementation of risk management by all border agencies is a key priority of the Government of Indonesia. Currently, only Indonesian Customs has implemented a risk management system. Many regulatory agencies, including BPOM, do not make a clear differentiation between high and low-risk consignments, resulting in high costs and delays for the private sector and inefficient use of enforcement resources for the public sector.

Australia's prodigious use of anti-dumping and countervailing measures is well documented. In 2019, Australia was the fifth most frequent user of trade remedy measures against Indonesia. Investigations have targeted a range of Indonesian industries, from steel fabricators and paper mills to power transformer manufacturers. 

21-22 October 2021

In collaboration with ARISE+ Indonesia, the Directorate of Standardisation and Quality Control, Ministry of Trade, will host the second preparatory workshop to develop the Indonesian Rapid Exchange of Information System (INRAPEX). 

12-14 October 2021

Currently, Indonesia is involved in several trade remedy disputes both as a complainant and respondent. With support from ARISE+ Indonesia, the Directorate of Trade Defense (DPP), Ministry of Trade will host four half-day online workshops to enhance its capacity to initiate and respond in respect of trade remedy actions.
