Support to Enhance Quality Desk Research, Knowledge of and Access to Information and Data on Non-Tariff Measures

The activity is to strengthen the capacity of relevant institutions involved in trade policy in developing policies and strategies to address non-tariff measures (NTM) to optimize benefits from international trade, especially in the context of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union (EU).

The online workshop will comprise a presentation of the results of consultations held with various key stakeholders such as government institutions and private sector on the relevance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Indonesia and the European Union (EU).  The Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) and the Ministry of Trade will be the resource persons to present the preliminary results from the qualitative analysis and modeling.

Voluntary standards are increasingly being used to support the implementation of technical legislation. This approach has been particularly successful in the EU with respect to the establishment of the Single Market. The purpose of this webinar is to explain how regulations using the voluntary standards are applied and which instruments make the interactions between regulations and standards work. The webinar will also introduce participants to areas where voluntary standards play little or no role in the EU technical regulation.
