Our next culinary adventure will take us to Kerinci Regency, a plateau area occupying the Barisan Mountains range (Bukit Barisan) in the south-western part of Sumatra, where the Cinnamomum burmannii is grown and cultivated by the local Kerinci community.

22 September 2022 - Technical Assistance I

The Ministry of Planning (Bappenas) will hold the second Global Economic Model (GEM) Training session with support from ARISE+ Indonesia. The training will be delivered by Oxford Economics with a particular focus on model simulations and data visualisation to build upon the previous session. The training aims to strengthen the capacity of the Bappenas team to run policy simulations and build dashboards in Excel, which can be easily updated as new scenarios are run through the model database. The training will take the form of an MS Teams call, with Bappenas team members following step-by-step instructions to have tangible output by the end of the session.

20-23 September 2022 - Technical Assistance II

The Directorate General of Capture Fishery, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries organised a four-day training on Good Fish Handling Practices (CPIB) for its inspectors and business operators, with support from ARISE+ Indonesia.

19 September 2022 - Technical Assistance II

The second Grand Design Coordination Workshop is being convened to present and discuss key interim quantitative and qualitative findings from the Grand Design assignments on (i) Export Acceleration, (ii) Investment and (iii) Economic Cooperation being developed for BAPPENAS with the support of ARISE+ Indonesia.
As a result of this workshop, officials from BAPPENAS and representatives from each of the Grand Design contractors will have a detailed understanding of the complementarities between the three Grand Designs and be in agreement on the next steps required to maximize these complementarities for the benefit of future Annual Workplans (RKPs) and the next National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029.
